Definition
A solar furnace is an industrial appliance that concentrates solar energy in order to produce heat at high temperatures (3,000 °C) by using parabolic reflectors (curved mirrors). The generated heat can be used to generate electricity or even to melt steel, etc.
A solar power tower is a type of a solar furnace using a high structure (tower) to collect sunlight.
